We are in the process of building a comprehensive database of audio-visual testimonies and life stories that reflects the whole Venezuelan-American Experience. The database includes audios, pictures and videos of individuals that constitute our main Oral History Project.

Since 2018, millions of Venezuelan fled the country in search of a better future, to all over the region. Many of them endured a dramatic ordeal to come to the United States. These are their testimonies.

A vibrant community of Venezuelan have been living in the Southern Florida region for decades, specially in Miami. Entrepreneurs, adventurers, workers, journalists, artists, among others of Venezuelan origin, consider Miami a home. Here we present a selections of these stories.

Pioneers

Venezuelans have been coming to the United Sates since at least 1784, when Francisco de Miranda spent several months in the nascent country. Since then, millions have arrived at the ports and airports of New York, Houston, Washington DC and Miami. We selected a group of Venezuelan that came to the U.S. in the 50s, 60s and 70s, to tell their stories about how life was like then.
